Marinas and Boat Launches in Port Renfrew
This world class marina is getting a complete face-lift right now (Spring 2016), and will be fully operational for the 2016 fishing season. The docks here are nice. There is fuel, and salt ice available – which is great. A large launching ramp is planned. There will be ample moorage and parking once the improvements are completed. See the development plans here:
This marina is VERY close to the Beach House. It’s only a 5 minute walk along a ocean side trail to get to this marina – very convenient! The marina is open May 1st to September 15th, but many have been able to use the launch outside of these dates no problem.
The ol’ trusty Port Renfrew Marina still going strong. It’s located on a slough of the Gordon River Estuary. There is a launch that will accommodate all boats, and tons of moorage available, and fuel for sale. The docks are always a little rough, but it hasn’t, and shouldn’t stop anyone from using it. The biggest challenge with this marina is that you have to navigate the estuary of the Gordon River to get to the ocean. This is usually no problem at high tide, but can be more than a little tricky at low water.
There is also day-launch you can use on the Pacheedaht land. Good for smaller boats only, this is a decent option for people who want to launch for cheap and get on the water fast.
